THE OPPOSITION PLAYBOOK

Turn outrage into organizing. Followers into a force. Comments into change.

The fight for our future isn’t just happening in Washington. It’s in our group chats, our neighborhoods, our ballot boxes—and the time to rise is now.

This is your toolkit for building people power, beating back extremism, and protecting our rights from the ground up.

Because the opposition has a playbook, so do we. Let’s use it.

  • Run for Office. Take a Training. Lead the Change.

  • Small group. Big power. This is how we scale a movement.

  • Turn your living room into a launchpad for change.

  • Because the opposition never takes a day off—and neither can we.

This initiative is built in coalition with FEMINIST, Persist. and Emerge

STEP 1️⃣
STEP UP & LEAD

Run for Office. Take a Training. Lead the Change.

Why it matters:

The opposition is stacking school boards and city councils with people ready to roll back our rights. We need bold, feminist leaders in the room—and that could be you.

You don’t have to run now. You just have to start.

What to do:

Join a Step Forward Training: Free 1-hour webinars from EMERGE to explore:

❇️ “Should I run for office?”

❇️ How to build your network

❇️ Steps to lay the groundwork for a future run

Pass it on:
Invite a friend who leads in group chats, at work, or in the community.

STEP 2️⃣
START A PERSISTER POWER POD

Small group. Big power. This is how we scale a movement.

We’ve seen it work: when 5–10 people commit to regular, shared political action, real change happens.

Why a Pod?

Because movements grow in relationship. And accountability is easier when it comes with snacks.

❇️ Gather your crew—friends, coworkers, aunties, roommates.

❇️ Commit to monthly actions: knocking on doors, donating, hosting parties, showing up.

❇️ Create a shared group chat.

Power Pods are political homes—where outrage turns into organizing, and no one burns out alone.

When one person acts, it’s powerful. When a pod acts? That’s momentum.

STEP 3️⃣
HOST A PERSISTER POWER PARTY

Turn your living room into a launchpad for change.

People don’t want more meetings. They want more meaning.

Host a Power Party—political gatherings that feel joyful, connected, and action-driven. Whether it’s brunch, Beyoncé & Ballots, or a debate watch night, it’s your vibe.

At your party, you’ll:

❇️ Talk about what’s at stake and who’s running.

❇️ Watch candidate spotlights or a live Zoom with EMERGE women in office.

❇️ Raise funds. Register voters. Build momentum.

When people gather, they’re more likely to stay involved.

Let’s build spaces where civic action feels like community, not a chore.

STEP 4️⃣
COMMIT TO CONSISTENT ACTION

Because the opposition never takes a day off—and neither can we.

This isn’t a one-time campaign. It’s a cultural shift.  We’re building a new habit of action—rooted in joy, solidarity, and follow-through.

Here’s how to stay lit:

❇️ Keep the Pod alive: send reminders, drop inspo, check-in.

❇️ Share candidate recs, local races to watch, and causes to uplift.

❇️ Keep showing up: at town halls, board meetings, protests, online, and IRL.

The goal? Build a culture of action—one where civic engagement is as regular as your group chat memes.
